The Sir Francis Drake Channel does the work here: a long sheltered stretch of water with islands on both sides, so passages are measured in minutes rather than hours. That makes it the easiest week in the Caribbean for families, for anyone who is new to time aboard, or for a group that wants to swim four times a day.
The Baths on Virgin Gorda are the one genuinely unusual landscape in the region — house-sized granite boulders forming pools and tunnels you swim through. Anegada, a low coral atoll out on its own reef, is the opposite: flat, remote and worth the run for the lobster alone.

November – May
December to April is the reliable window. The water inside the Sir Francis Drake Channel stays flat almost regardless, which is why the season here is forgiving.
