Fifteen minutes from the Croisette you can be anchored off a monastery island where nothing has been built since the Middle Ages.
That short crossing is what makes Cannes work from a yacht. Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat sit across the bay: pine, eucalyptus, shallow sand at the Plateau du Milieu, and a shoreline path you can walk before lunch. Guests swim, eat on board, sleep in the afternoon — and the city is still in sight the whole time.
Then you go back in. Tender to the Croisette for dinner, La Palme d'Or or a table in Le Suquet, a walk up to the old town, and no drive home at the end of it. During the big weeks the yacht becomes the quiet part of the day — somewhere to have lunch, change, and take people who are not going to a party. West you have the red rock of the Esterel and Théoule; east, Antibes, Cap Ferrat and Villefranche within a morning.

May – October
The bay works from May, and October is often still warm and completely quiet. Festival and congress weeks fill the anchorage and the restaurants — worth planning around, in either direction.

Île Sainte-Marguerite
Anchor in the strait or off the north shore, swim, and walk the pine path around the fort.
Saint-Honorat
The monks' island, still farmed and still quiet — a slow lunch stop rather than a place to go ashore late.
La Croisette
Tender in for the evening: dinner in Le Suquet or on the front, then back on board twenty minutes later.
The Esterel
Half an hour west, red porphyry falling into deep water at Théoule and Agay for an afternoon at anchor.
